What makes casinos want to connect to your smartphone?
The days of putting a membership card connected to a lanyard into a slot machine to rack up comps may soon be a thing of the past, just like slot machines that payout in real money. Smartphone apps are already being used for anything from tracking game play within the casino to communicating special offers to providing free online versions of slot and table games, so some parts of phone casino Malaysia are already in the future.
The Agua Caliente casino chain, which has facilities in Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage (with plans to open a second one in Cathedral City), has just released a new smartphone app that mixes technology with its tried-and-true loyalty programme. The Bluetooth-enabled app can track a player’s slot play as they move from machine to machine, allowing them to use their ACE Club cards from afar.
According to the app, which was published last month, users can get information on entertainment, dining, and gambling at both the Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage casinos, as well as updates on their players club account and push notifications with special promotions.
“It’s no surprise that’s where the world is going,” Facenda said. It seemed only natural to provide our visitors with a beautiful and simple way to access Agua Caliente items, shows, restaurant reservations, tickets, points, accounts, and all of these things at the press of a button on their phones.
The Bluetooth feature, which allows players to earn points for their ACE Club account without ever having to insert a card, is one of the features targeted at making things easier for users.
The benefits of using applications
Consumer behaviour has changed dramatically in the previous decade, according to Vibhanshu Abhishek, associate professor of information systems at UC Irvine. Almost everyone now owns a smartphone, he says.
